This transformative development breathes new life into a previously blighted site—one that included a dilapidated 19th-century home and an outdated, non-conforming commercial structure—by blending preservation, thoughtful design, and authentic neighborhood engagement.

At its core stands 6832 Ridge Avenue, a circa 1850 masonry residence recognized as a contributing property within the Ridge Avenue Roxborough Thematic Historic District. Once marred by neglect, the building has been meticulously restored both inside and out, with original architectural features revived to their former glory and new interiors designed for contemporary urban living. A new detached rear structure was added with care, providing additional units and private parking while respecting the spatial relationship and prominence of the historic home.

Next door, the former one-story nail salon at 6830 Ridge Avenue—non-contributing and out of sync with the corridor—was razed. In its place, a newly constructed building rises with understated elegance, designed to honor the architectural rhythm of Ridge Avenue. The new structure strikes a delicate balance: grounded in tradition, yet unmistakably modern, it feels as though it has always belonged.

This project’s success hinged on collaboration.
